Spanking is illegal… now also in UK produced porn

The British decided to be really British, and banned a slew of sex acts from UK produced porn… The list includes spanking, caning, aggressive whipping, penetration by any object “associated with violence”, physical or verbal abuse (regardless of  if consensual), urolagnia (known as “water sports”), female ejaculation, strangulation, facesitting, and fisting; basically, they banned femdom porn and made me thank the heavenly Lord and all cute cat pictures on the internet that I don’t live in the UK.

Basically what happened is this: all of this was already banned in sex story sold DVD’s as they had to be rated “R18” according to whatever law that governs ratings for DVD, TV, and movies. But online porn wasn’t included in this, until now… So citizens of the UK need to look elsewhere for their BDSM, as foreign produced porn of course doesn’t have to comply with this… Part of me is imagining some underground system of smuggling it in, but with the internet it will be fairly not-underground; in the end, what this did is screw over a group of BDSM porn performers and producers in the UK.

What is interesting about this, is that this change has been argued on the usual “think of the children” basis… But what it really did was just ban online femdom porn, and that is messed up… I think that when it comes to the run of the mill let’s-cum-all-over-a-woman and the dominatrix-canning-a-man-who’s-tied-up, in the current society we live in the first is more damaging than the latter.

Apparently, the last three acts that were listed (strangulation, facesitting, and fisting) were argued as “life endangering”… You know, as opposed to what? Unsafe sex that is common in most run-of-the-mill heterosexual porn? I mean, if it’s done by professionals who know what they are doing, in a women empowered work environment, what’s so life endangering about it? Or maybe it is a “they might try this at home” thing? In which case every action movie on TV should be banned…
